Side effects and problems on treatment

Most side effects are mild and fade within 2 to 3 weeks of a dose change. A small number need urgent help. These guides show you which is which.

Read the side effects guide first. The plateau, hair loss and gallstone guides each explain why the problem happens, what lowers your risk and when to message the clinical team.

Severe stomach pain reaching your back, swelling of the face or throat, or vomiting so severe you keep no fluids down needs urgent care. Call 999 or go to A&E.
