Side effect guidance

Nausea, constipation and reflux are common in the first weeks. You get practical steps for each, plus clear signs for when to seek urgent help. Start with the side effects guide.

Protein and hydration plan

Eating less makes each meal matter more. The protein guide helps you protect muscle and keep fluids up.

Dose decisions made with you

Stepping up is optional. Many people stay on a lower dose when weight loss and comfort are both good.

A plan for stopping

Weight often returns after treatment ends. We plan your maintenance phase early, including a gradual step down.

A realistic timeline, month by month

Results differ from person to person. The pattern below is usual on weekly treatment.

Weeks 1 to 4

Starter dose

Your body adjusts. Appetite starts to drop. Weight change is often small, and mild nausea is common.

Months 2 to 3

Stepping up

Doses rise every 4 weeks if you tolerate them. Portions shrink and steady weekly loss usually begins.

Months 4 to 12

Steady progress

Most weight loss happens here. In trials of weekly treatment, average loss ranged from about 15% to 21% of body weight.

After your goal

Maintenance

You and your prescriber agree a long-term plan. Options include a lower dose, a wider gap between doses, or a supported stop.

Trial figures are alongside diet and activity support. Each plan page lists its sources.

How we keep treatment safe

Guides people read first

Questions people ask first

How fast will I lose weight?

Expect a slow first month on the starter dose. Loss tends to pick up from month 2. A steady 0.5 to 1 kg a week is a healthy pace. Faster loss puts muscle at risk.

What are the common side effects?

Nausea, constipation, diarrhoea, reflux and tiredness. They usually ease within a few weeks of each dose change. Severe stomach pain needs urgent medical help.

Do I need to tell my GP?

Yes. We ask for your GP details and recommend sharing your treatment. Your GP record helps other clinicians prescribe safely alongside this medicine.

Does the medicine affect the contraceptive pill?

Some weight loss medicines can reduce how well the pill works. Your prescriber explains the rule for your treatment before you start. Read pregnancy and contraception.

Can I pause or cancel?

Yes. No contract ties you in. Tell us before your next order date and we pause or stop your plan.

What happens when I reach my goal weight?

You move to a maintenance plan agreed with your prescriber. Options include a lower dose, wider gaps between doses, or a supported stop with a structured habit plan. Read our maintenance guide.
